Christian earned his BA in Anthropology from the University of Kentucky in 1998, served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Zambia from 2000-2002 in the Community Action for Health Program, and earned a Master's Degree in Anthropology and Public Health/Epidemiology from the University of South Florida in 2005. His thesis work, with the CDC's Global AIDS Program, centered on private sector HIV/AIDS programs in multinational companies in Gauteng, South Africa. He worked with Mpatamatu Home Based Care in Luanshya, Zambia in monitoring and evaluation and was the education coordinator for Doctors without Borders/Spain for an HIV treatment program in Tanzania. Currently studying Portuguese, Christian plans on working in Mozambique for his dissertation research.
