Eligibility for Dissertation Research Fellowship: Ph.D. students at MSU who have completed all requirements for their degree with the exception of their dissertation research. Applicants must have dissertation projects which focus on the gender dimensions of environmental and/or agricultural change.

GJEC Dissertation Completion Fellowship - One $10,000 award*
Eligibility for Dissertation Completion Fellowship: Ph.D. students at MSU who have completed all requirements for their degree program including dissertation research. Internships

Environmental Internships:

The Center for Gender in Global Context (GenCen) Internship Program offers internship coordination services and support to MSU undergraduate and graduate students. Students may elect to participate in internships linked to the Gender, Justice, and Environmental Change Internship Program, or to those formerly coordinated by the Women, Gender, and Social Justice Internship Program. Through either of these programs, students will intern with leading organizations working at the local, national, and international levels on gender-related social justice or environmental issues. The internships are open to students from any MSU department or college. Each student intern will work with a supervisor from the host organization and from within his or her department or college, benefiting from the supervisor's experience and expertise in gender, environmental, and/or social justice fields. Please visit the internship information webpage or email the internship coordinator, Marisa Rinkus, at gencenic@msu.edu for more details.

Undergraduate Internship Program:

The Center for Gender for Gender in Global Context (GenCen) at Michigan State University generally employs two undergraduate interns each academic semester.

These are paid positions requiring a commitment of 10-20 hours per week. Applicants should be sophomores or juniors enrolled at Michigan State University. Excellent writing and research skills are required. Also necessary are computer and Web knowledge, an ability to work independently, and a strong interest in issues of diversity and women's issues on a global level. Each spring, we post a call for internship applications on the GenCen website.

The internships involve working on GenCen's Web site, the GPID Bulletin, and other projects. Depending on performance, the position may continue through the academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for students of International Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Women's Studies, or anyone interested in development issues and their effects on women globally, particularly in the Third World.
