Grant Writing and Development Assistance

In order to encourage faculty members to pursue external funding for research initiatives on gender in global context, the center provides assistance to faculty developing grant ideas and writing proposals. The center would also like to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration among the faculty in pursuing innovative research design. Title VI Resources:

International Development Research Initiation Grants (IDRIG)
Support for faculty to initiate research

This grant is Title VI funded and is administered through CASID/WID. International Development Research Initiation Grants provide support for innovative research proposals from faculty which promote new knowledge about international development. Foreign travel and per diem support of up to $2,000 will be awarded to competitive applications.

CASID/WID Awards for Curriculum Development
For Faculty developing a specific course

This grant is Title VI funded by CASID and WID. Several annual awards of $3,000 of summer salary support will be awarded to faculty members developing new undergraduate and graduate courses. Curriculum must address international development and/or gender relations, or develop new course modules on these topics for inclusion in existing courses.

Award for Development of a Study Abroad Program
CASID and WID offer Title VI funding to support core and consulting faculty in the development of new study abroad programs to increase foreign language study options in study abroad programs in Africa, Asia or Latin America. Conference Awards
Limited funds are occasionally made available for faculty presenting research at conferences to cover travel and incidental expenses. The research presented must be relevant to the GenCen's stated purpose.
