The Office of International Studies and Programs (ISP) website and all related or similarly hosted websites that display this message, may use a "session" feature which can request, but does not require, that a cookie be placed on your computer. A "cookie" is a little bit of information that we choose, via our behind the screen program code, to keep about your access to the ISP site. It does not identify you at all but rather keeps track of, for instance, whether you have chosen to Bolden Links or not so that each page you request during that "session" consistently has the feature on or off as you have chosen. A "session" may, or may not, expire in various ways. We have intentionally not, except for internal ISP login users, set any explicit expiration timeframe. However, different browsers may treat sessions differently, some defaulting to an hour when our server quits expecting the session to continue, and some forcing the session back into action whenever you access the site until you actually close your browser.

The ISP website and all related or similarly hosted websites routinely collect and store information from online visitors to help manage the sites and improve service. This information includes the pages visited on the site, the date and time of the visit, the internet address (URL and/or IP address) of the referring site, the domain name and IP address from which the access occurred, the version of browser used, the capabilities of the browser, and search terms used on our search engine. This site makes no attempt to identify individual visitors from this information.

In the course of using this website, you may choose to provide us with information to help us serve your needs. For example, you may send a staff member electronic mail to request information, complete an online form, or use our feedback web e-mail address to note an error on one of our pages. Any personally identifiable information you send us will be used only for the purpose indicated. We will not sell, exchange or otherwise distribute your personally identifiable information without your consent, except to the extent required by law.
