Academics

The Center for Gender in Global Context facilitates academic programs for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Undergraduate students have the ability to declare a major with the newly formed Women’s and Gender Studies degree through the College of Arts & Letters or with the Gender and Global Change degree through the College of Social Science. GenCen is also proud to announce the Women’s and Gender Studies minor, available as of Fall 2009. In addition, GenCen offers three undergraduate specializations: International Development, with advising offered through CASID; Women, Gender, and Social Justice through the College of Arts & Letters; and Gender and Global Change through the College of Social Science.

While GenCen does not currently grant graduate degrees, graduate students can take advantage of three specializations administered through GenCen: Gender, Justice and Environmental Change; International Development, with advising offered through CASID; and an Interdisciplinary Specialization in Women and Gender.

Advising through GenCen

GenCen's academic advisor is able to assist students with all the specializations offered through GenCen, as well as the undergraduate Women’s and Gender Studies degree and minor. Advising for the Gender and Global Change degree is administered through the College of Social Science.
